Smell safari ~ perfume on the radio

Kurt Anderson of Studio 360 takes Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez of Perfumes: The Guide to a Duane Reade pharmacy to smell things. Perfumistas, take heart, you won't have to hear another long discussion of Eau de Toilette vs. Eau de Parfum, etc etc etc. About 11 minutes long. You can listen below, or download an MP3 file at the website.
Update: I had trouble getting the embedded whatchamacallit above to work in Firefox; it worked perfectly for me in Internet Explorer. Your mileage may vary. Filed in:

Good, don't know why Firefox had problems. I loved "Old Fart Extreme" too...and missed the name of the vanilla scent at the end that was a sign of the downfall of western civilization, but that was funny too :-)

Bless her! I totally agree. I had a Montale Aoud on yesterday. Wonderfully complex and interesting...but it wore me out after 10 minutes...and folks around me had to step back apace.

A few months ago I wouldn't have thought to try leathers (which I now adore) and who knows....perhaps down the line I might retry an aoud..and find that I love it!

Just listened this am (firefox worked fine). I must say, LT/TS came across as way less strident and way more accessible than they do in their book. Luca, especially, seem to have a true passion for perfume - verbally, it really comes though - and that passion, combined with his scientific chops, is endearing. Totally different tone than I got with the book.
