Parfums d'Armando Martinez is the eponymous indie perfume line of Perfume of Life forum regular MandoChristo. His first four fragrances are Satyr, Benefactor, Pillow of Flowers, and Maquillage:
Satyr [shown], a scent named after the greek mythological creature that was half animal/half human. A fruity chypre scent with animalic edge that can be worn either by a man or a woman. Inspired by the great old fruity chypres of years past, Satyr's notes include lemon, peach, clove, bergamot, patchouli, oakmoss and ambriene.
Benefactor, a scent that envelopes the wearer in a cloak of roses, vanilla and oudh. A modern take on the age old arabic perfume. An oriental that can be worn by either a man or a woman. Benefactor's notes include bergamot, camphor, turkish rose, saffron, vetiver, atlas cedarwood, vanilla and oudh.
Pillow of Flowers, an aldehydic feminine scent inspired by the great old floral aldehydic scents of the past. Imagine a 1950's drama or a comedy; white couture clothes, white interiors and white flowers in vases. A scent that takes the usual top note of aldehydes and brings them down to the base. The first thing that hits you is the base notes which include vanilla, opoponax, frankincense, vetiver and aldehydes. As the base notes slowly melt away, they make way for a white floral bouquet of jasmine, roses, tuberose, lily of the valley, lilac, orchid and ylang ylang. A scent of glamour, a scent that evokes another era but is very much in touch with today's modernity.
Maquillage, a rose & violet feminine scent that harks back to the 1930's. A scent inspired by the fragrance of face powders of long ago. A scent that also inspired me to think of it as being on the boudoir table of a great Hollywood female star of yesteryear in a beautiful crystal flacon. Maquillage's notes include lemon, beeswax, peach, carnation, violet, jasmine, roses, vanilla, iris, tonka bean and musk.
All four of the fragrances are available now at First in Fragrance (in Germany); 50 ml Eau de Parfum is 69€.
