The Emilio Pucci brand, currently owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, is celebrating its 60th anniversary (see articles in the International Herald Tribune and The Telegraph) and as part of the festivities, is reviving a 1966 Pucci perfume called Vivara. The chypre fragrance has been updated by perfumer Francois Demachy:
But the new Vivara is a more modern chypre, said Demachy — its top notes include galbanum, Italian bergamot and an amaretto accord, combined with middle notes of jasmine, orange flower and narcissus flower, rounded out with base notes of Florentine iris, vetiver and Indonesian patchouli.
Pucci Vivara will launch in the US this September, and will be available in 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum. The glass bottle cap design was inspired by Pucci's Vivara print, which has previously decorated clothing, accessories and even the hand-painted sail of a 60-foot yacht. (via Women's Wear Daily)
Update: the Pucci website describes the new Vivara as a "radiant and feminine" green floral fragrance.
Update 2: Pucci Vivara was created by perfumers Natalie Gracia-Cetto and Marie-Aude Couture-Bluche. (via perfumerflavorist)
