Christian Lacroix Rouge & Noir, Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Now ~ new fragrances

Christian Lacroix Rouge & Noir fragrances for Avon Christian Lacroix will launch a duo of mass market fragrances with Avon.

Christian Lacroix Rouge for women will debut in September. The "floral chypre" was developed by perfumers Laurent Le Guernec and Carlos Benaim and includes notes of white pepper, orange, red peony; osmanthus flower, plum blossom, water lily, cashmere woods, patchouli and musk.

Christian Lacroix Noir for men is described as a "fresh, woody" fragrance. It was developed by perfumers Pascal Gaurin and Yves Cassar, and features ginger, saffron, cardamom, orris, white cedarwood, driftwood, vetiver and musk. Look for it in early 2008. (via Women's Wear Daily)

Update: per Cosmetic News, both scents will launch in the UK this September; Rouge will come to the US in November, Noir not until February 2008.

Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Now perfume Victoria's Secret has launched the 2007 limited edition version of Very Sexy Now. This year's fragrance is a fruity floral...

...playing off the sexiest, most of-the-moment fragrance notes: decadent pink marshmallow, invigorating freesia and juicy frozen lychee.

Additional notes include pear, mandarin, red peony, freesia, rose accord, vanilla orchid, velvet musk and sandalwood. Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Now is available in 75 ml Eau de Parfum ($49) or 250 ml Body Mist ($22). (via victoriassecret)

CL Rouge sounds like it might actually smell good, if in fact it is a chypre, and the bottle's gorgeous, even if it does very strongly call to mind the bottles for the Dior Hypnotic Poison lotion and shower gel.

The men's bottle is also beautiful, but, and I can't believe I'm saying this, it really looks like a bottle for a women's scent. (That lacy cartouche around the name seems very feminine, and the cap irresistibly recalls that for Eternity.) The scent sounds boring, like most every other men's scent that's come down the pike in the last ten years or so. A fresh woody scent! With ginger and cedar! How very novel.

LOL at "if in fact it is a chypre" -- the meaning of chypre has cheapened to the point of being meaningless, IMHO. I like the bottles too, although you might be right about the men's. Perhaps the dark grey makes up for the other design elements.

Anyway, I'll never smell them as I never manage to get Avon samples.

Truly Lacroix releases have turned out to be "too much" for me.
The last, tumulté, was baroque from name to smell.
Of course it is coherent with his designs.
The bottles, I MUST say, look fantastic.
The notes on noir sound terrific.
If this turns out to be true and smells half as good as it sounds, It should be the perfume equivalent of getting veuve cliquot for the price of Coca Cola.
Of course..it DOES sound too good to be true. ;-)

Victoria's Secret releases smell great for a couple of months, then all the el-cheapo lines copy their apple-mango-melon-pear "creations" and you get them in chinese "body-splash" knockoff versions for a quarter the price.

I agree with pryamus.. the name sounds like an order.
Sexy Now, Damn it! .... If it was a miumiu fragrance, should it be called "Frigid Later" ??? ;-)

I love Tumulte Homme, but haven't tried the women's. Both of the bottles are gorgeous though -- the bottle for the new C'est La Fete is dull in comparison.

Somebody ought to release a "Frigid Later", that is too funny to pass up.

They are around $32 for the Rouge and $28 for the Noir, is that right? I thought Avon had already broken the $30 barrier -- but I don't know much about it, perhaps that is too much?
