It isn't a male fragrance, it is just that none of the Fifi Awards have categories for unisex.

Because I approve of them, LOL! The Terre d'Hermes isn't on the most widespread release here; neither is the Maitresse, so they haven't gone for the huge sellers or the popular faveourites. Black Orchid is VERY hard to find (I've still only seen it in Harrods), and a fair way out of the mainstream drive towards light and fruity. I think these are all worthy choices.

Ah -- my cynical reaction was that 2 of the 4 major winners are from British companies. Jo Malone won last year too, for Pomegranate Noir. But you're right, at least they didn't just reward the top sellers!

Terre d'Hermes is doing very well this year (also won in Italy, France & Germany) and am going to be very surprised if it doesn't win in the US too.

You know, I didn't even think about the nationality - how naive am I? I tend to think of AP as being 'international' rather than British, and with Jo Malone being owned by Estee Lauder (I think?) and not having Jo Malone in it...seems just 'kinda' British to me.

I guess it all depends on perspective: I think of them both as British, although you're right that JM is now only "kinda" British.

Are the AP scents widely available in the UK? They are not here, and maybe that is why I don't think of it as an int'l brand.

I have lost count of how many times I have seen Terre D'Hermes listed as a "winner".

Its good but its not THAT good. Or maybe the competition was just week.

I adored it, but really, the Fifi awards aren't really about the excellence of the fragrance itself as near as I can tell.
