Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Angelique Lilas and Mandarine Basilic ~ new fragrances

Guerlain Angelique Lilas Two new fragrances join the Aqua Allegoria line from Guerlain this year: Angelique Lilas and Mandarine Basilic.

Angelique Lilas is an aromatic floral created by perfumer Jean Paul Guerlain, and features notes of pink pepper, jasmine, bigarade, angelica, lilac, ylang ylang, cedar and heliotrope.

Mandarine Basilic is an aromatic citrus created by perfumer Marie Salamagne. The notes include orange blossom, white peony, green tea, ivy, Roman camomile, mandarin, basil, amber and sandalwood.

The fragrances are available in 75 and 125 ml bottles of Eau de Toilette, and are in stock now at escentual in the UK.

When when WHEN will they arrive in North America though? I still haven't seen hide nor hare of Grosselina or Kiwi and they came out last year!

I'm hoping I'll like the Lilas (being the lilac maniac that I am). Maybe it can replace my beloved Lilia Bella which has been discontinued.

They did not seem to distribute last year's AAs very widely. I saw Kiwi in Sephora, but it wasn't there long, and only saw Grosselina at the Bergdorf Goodman in NY.

I think the AA line has been, on a whole, very well done. They're not very complex, but then again, they don't pretend to be, and I find their lack of pretension refreshing, as well as the scents themselves. There will always be a place on my shelf for Rosa Magnifica (that is, as long as my supply holds out - discontinuation is the only down side).

But I have to say that Guerlain does not seem particularly interested in promoting the line anymore, at least in the US, so I am wary of becoming attached to *any* of them. Anisia Bella was around for awhile before hitting the chopping block, but Tutti Kiwi made a remarkably brief appearance here, and Grosselina even more so. Am a bit worried that I won't see the Mandarine Basilic at all :-(
