L'Artisan Fleur de Narcisse ~ new fragrance

L'Artisan Fleur de Narcisse fragrance As previously reported, this year's harvest fragrance from L'Artisan is Fleur de Narcisse, created by perfumer Anne Flipo (who also did last year's Fleur d'Oranger). The perfume is based on "an exceptional narcissus harvested on June 6th and 7th, 2005, in Lozère, southern France" and also includes green notes, blackcurrant, hay, cassie, iris, tobacco, moss and leather. 3,000 numbered bottles (100 ml each) will be sold at 240€. The fragrance is to go on sale in the US in early November; many L'Artisan retailers have testers now. (via beaute-addict, osmoz)

And for anyone who missed the news, L'Artisan's summer fragrance for 2005, Extrait de Songe, is available again under the new name L'Ete en Douce. It is currently exclusive to Barneys in the US. I have no idea if it has joined the regular line up or is a limited edition, do comment if you know!

R, I saw the new Extrait de Songe bottle at Barney's last weekend, and it is now in the standard L'Artisan bottle. A shame, because the original bottle was so pretty and whimsical. Speaking of bottles, I just love the etching on these floral harvest bottles, and wish they could do something similar on something, you know, not floral.

Agree with you and T about the FdO (I did buy it, and I'm not at all sorry, so there!) and the Narcisse. A number of people seem to love the latter but it was merely OK on me--and OK does not move me to such an expenditure (still debating whether I want a decant). I bought L'Ete en Douce (AKA Extrait de Songe) on that shopping trip with Keeter; I probably wouldn't have done so, but I discovered--through an accident of very sloppy spraying--that when layered with L'Artisan Vetiver, it is absolutely beautiful on me (and I just happen to have recently swapped for some Vetiver). Not a combination I would have thought of trying, but--wow! Everyone (which is to say, Keet, our other shopping partner, and the SA:) agreed.

And what an interesting layering combo. Don't have any LA Vetiver left, but maybe will try it with some other vetiver, or better yet, D'Orsay Tilleul (similar but without the clean cotton stuff) with something vetiver.
