I love the New Yorker. I wish they would do a semi-regular article on perfume. For that matter, why can't the fashion magazines do a better job? All we get is little blurbs raving about the latest release. Blech.

Thanks so much, R! We subscribe to the New Yorker, so hopefully our magazine will arrive in the mail today. I plan to make the article on J-C E my bedtime reading tonight, along with the article on Francois Coty, which I am printing right now.

I totally agree with you about perfume articles in these "upscale" magazines. Vogue has this huge issue for March, with all of the clothes and jewels you could imagine, yet not one article or even a blurb on perfume. And you are right: when they finally publish something on perfume, it is usually disappointing and leaves me wanting more information!

More rant: almost every year, Allure wins the Fifi for perfume reporting. That cracks me up. I have never read a single critical (or even interesting) word about fragrance in Allure. I hope Chandler Burr will keep writing about perfume.
