Nanette Lepore Shanghai Butterfly perfume Nanette Lepore will launch Shanghai Butterfly in April, with...

...top notes of lemon slice, mandarin, green snow apple and spicy carnation, and a heart of poet's jasmine, lily of the valley, gardenia and crimson whisper rose. The base notes are of blond woods, green cedar, Siberian musk and sandalwood.

Update: per Sephora, "Nanette Lepore heads east with this lush fragrance inspired by Thailand, and brief stopovers in Russia and China." Nanette Lepore Shanghai Butterfly is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in 30 ml Parfum.

Fresh Cannabis Santal fragrance Also in April, look for a new fragrance for men, Cannabis Santal, from Fresh. The fragrance...

...has top notes of bergamot, brazilian orange and black plum. The heart of the scent includes patchouli, rose and cannabis accord, which intermingle with a base of chocolate, vetiver and vanilla musk.

Fresh launched Pink Jasmine earlier this month. The perfume has notes of red orange, freesia, spring lilac, magnolia, peony, fresh jasmine, tiare flower, precious woods, velvety peach skin, and marsh mallow.

Antica Farmacista has launched two new fragrances, Casablanca Lily and Pomegranate & Currant. (all above via Women's Wear Daily)

The next scent to join the Armani Privé line will be Cuir Améthyste, with bergamot, floral notes, amber, benzoin, and labdanum. (via LeFigaro)

I tried Fresh's Pink Jasmine at Saks yesterday. It's nice clean fresh jasmine.

What an adorable bottle that new Lepore is! The juice doesn't sound too bad apart from green "snow" apple. What IS green cedar. Only yestreday I saw blue cedar among the notes of I think trouble. I should educate myself on the color specter of cedars, it is my favorrite note after all.
Cannbis Santal, huh? Ok then.
Cuir Amethyste...Firstly, Cuir Beluga anyone? Secondly, I am relieved because I though Amethyste woudl mean lilac, which I abhore. This sounds very promising!

I was hoping for something more purple-ish myself. Violet, maybe? But maybe there is something purple in the "floral notes". Either way we'll have to try it!

Wow, The 2 new Anticas sound good - especially Casablanca Lily if it REALLY smells that good! True lily is my favorite scent but so hard to capture in a fragrance. The best one I know of is, of course, Serge Lutens Un Lys, but that is white lily (Madonna Lily), the only one commonly used in perfumery. I wonder if it is simply constructed to smell like Casablancas or if they are really in there! I can't wait to try it! :-)

Well, both are true lilies but the "white lily" (Madonna Lily) is extremely intense and heady with a distinct relationship to other heavy, indolic white flowers like jasmine and tuberose, though not quite as sweet, and it has a"foxy" tickle to it that they lack. Casablanca lilies are Oriental liles, and the fragrance is lighter and more ethereal, and accompanied by a distinct vanilla note and some spice. Casablanca in particular is famous for its breathy vanilla sweetness that's not heavy and overpowering like some lilies can be.

I will be monitoring Luscious Cargo (and/or whoever else carries the AF line) closely until that one comes in! :-)
